The Virgin of Quito is a huge sculpure of a winged Virgin Mary. It is situated at the southern part of the city center of Quito,

on the mount Panecillo („little bread“), at 3.000 m height. Overlooking the city center towards the northern part, it turns it´s back towards the southern part of Quito, which is the poorer area, as the inhabitants of Quito like to tell.

The view from Panecillo is phantastic!
